The role
In the role of Cloud Foundry Engineer / Cloud Platform Engineer you will be responsible for maintaining, managing, extending and improving our Mendix Cloud hosting environment.
Our latest edition of Mendix Cloud (v4), Mendix applications run on Cloud Foundry on Amazon Web Services. Running a stable Cloud Foundry environment is vital to our business. You will be working with the latest developments on Cloud technologies such as CloudFoundry and Kubernetes.

You’ll help drive digital innovation by:

    • Continuously improving the reliability of our systems powering the Mendix Cloud
    • Scaling Cloud Foundry beyond its limits, having 100,000 apps in a single foundation, hitting the performance boundaries of Cloud Foundry
    • Optimize Cloud Foundry to use resources more efficiently
    • Building the bridge between Cloud Foundry and Kubernetes
    • By being part of 3rd line on-call 24/7 about one week a month
    • Proactively improving the platform observability

Our technology stack is mostly based on open source technologies:

You’re the innovator we need if you:

    • Have experience with either Python or Golang
    • Have experience with hosting a distributed microservices architecture (e.g. technologies like Docker, Cloud Foundry, Kubernetes, etc.)
    • Experience with IaaS Cloud Providers(e.g. AWS, GCP) and in depth Linux internals knowledge
    • Experience with cloud automation and infrastructure provisioning(e.g. Terraform, Cloud Formation, python troposphere, etc)
    • Experience with CI/CD concepts(e.g. Concource CI, Jenkins, etc.)

The Solution Engineer (a.k.a. Technical Architect – Salesforce Field Service

The Technical Architect for Salesforce Field Service is responsible for successfully designing and managing the delivery of cloud based solutions and technologies; for this role the Technical architect works exclusively on Salesforce Field Service engagements in this architecture role and as such has a good working knowledge of our SFS product and best practices for implementing it. This can be both in a project or advisory type setting.

Prior knowledge of and experience with Service Cloud is required and  knowledge of call centre operations a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Help clients consistently meet/exceed goals and metrics through developing architecture / design for the SFS implementation 
  • Working closely with Delivery Managers, Functional Solution Architects and directly with clients to architect technology solutions to meet client needs.
  • Designing transformational technical solutions and working directly with customers to meet their business requirements in accordance with industry best practices
  • Leading and mentor the development team on the project.
  • Enforcing sound development practices and ensure the quality delivery of enterprise solutions.
  • Serving as a trusted advisor to the client.
  • Working collaboratively and having very strong communications skills, especially in teaching complex concepts, and creative, prescriptive thinking
  • Identifying and leading internal strategic initiatives to grow the consulting practice; serving as an active contributor to the overall knowledge base and expertise of the community. 

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

  • SFS implementation experience or experience with another Field Service product, knowledge of the subject area (Field Service) (required)
  • Knowledge of and experience with Service Cloud implementations (required)
  • Experience in call centre environments and familiarity with call centre operations
  • BA/BS degree or foreign equivalent
  • 8+ years experience in developing technology solutions.
  • 5+ years experience in managing external client projects in positions of increasing responsibility in the delivery of business consulting and systems development.

Techzine zoekt redacteur (journalist) voor techredactie

We zijn op zoek naar een ambitieuze redacteur die al de nodige kennis heeft van de zakelijke IT-markt of die zich daar snel in kan ontwikkelen. De gewenste kandidaat heeft redactionele ervaring, is niet bang om vragen te stellen en kan zelfstandig werken.

We richten ons met Techzine op de zakelijke enterprise IT-markt, een complexe maar zeer uitdagende markt. We doen dit zowel in het Nederlands met Techzine.nl, als in het Engels met Techzine.eu. De voorkeur gaat dan ook uit naar een redacteur die in beide talen uit de voeten kan.

In deze functie is naast een vlotte pen ook de bereidheid om snel bij te leren belangrijk. De ontwikkelingen in de IT staan niet stil en dat vereist zo nu en dan de nodige verdieping om bij te blijven.

Verder vinden wij het bezoeken van events en klanten enorm belangrijk om tot de juiste verhalen te komen. Door corona is dit uiteraard enorm lastig geworden en zijn veel meetings en events nu virtueel. We gaan er echter vanuit dat in 2021 of 2022 de meeste afspraken weer fysiek plaats zullen vinden.

Ons kantoor is gevestigd in de buurt van ‘s-Hertogenbosch, op 10 minuten afstand van het centraal station.

Na de inwerkperiode zijn we flexibel met thuiswerken en zelf je tijd en afspraken indelen. Op termijn horen ook werkbezoeken in het buitenland tot de mogelijkheden.
